48 x 20 x 12 inches is a classic underfloor band: long enough to run between frame members, at 20 inches wide it drops between typical crossmember spacing, and 12 inches of height leaves room above the axles. That is the RV9W, Ronco Plastics' 48-gallon fresh water tank - and worth knowing, Ronco's own sheet rates this mold conservatively at 44 gallons, so the shell is not being stretched to make its number.

It is molded in light-duty natural polyethylene, FDA-compliant for potable water, with the translucent wall that lets you read the water level from outside instead of trusting a sender. Brimmed, 48 gallons is about 400 lb of water on a 77 lb tank, so plan the cradle accordingly.

If the proportions are close but not right, the 46-gallon RV22W at 36 x 22 x 14 inches is shorter and taller, and the 46-gallon RV33W at 40.5 x 25.25 x 12 inches keeps the same low height on a wider footprint.
