The Norwesco 60 gallon 57 degree cone bottom inductor tank, part number 42066, is a natural white polyethylene mixing tank 24 inches in diameter and 42 inches tall, weighing 28 lb empty. It is the tall version of 60 gallons: a 24 inch footprint, with the volume carried in height. The 57 degree cone is the steepest in the range, and it is what you buy when the product settles or dissolves slowly and you want all of it out of the tank. It comes with a 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the bottom of the cone and a 16 inch threaded vented manway on top. The tank is rated for liquids up to 1.5 specific gravity. Why the steep cone and the narrow footprint
A steep cone drains itself. Suspensions drop their solids into the point of the cone and they leave with the last gallon; slow dissolving powders collect where the mixing current is strongest instead of in a dead corner. The price of a 57 degree cone is height, and this tank pays it: 42 inches tall before the stand goes under it. Measure the ceiling and the fill height you can reach before you order, because a tall tank on a stand puts the manway above most people's shoulders. What goes in it
Water, liquid fertilizer and the common farm and treatment chemicals polyethylene handles are the normal loads. Openings, fittings and what to check before you buy
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the point of the cone. A ball valve threads straight in. Fit it before the first fill and support the valve and hose on their own.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top, for bags, a mixer shaft and a brush. On a tank this tall, plan a step or a platform for whoever loads it.
