Where it goes
A 23 inch tank is a drum's footprint with more than half again the drum's capacity, and that is where it earns its place: a chemical feed tank beside a boiler or cooling tower, a rinse tank on a wash bay, a holding tank in a well house or pump room, a nutrient tank on a greenhouse bench, or a water tank in a service body. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 1-1/4 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the side wall. A 1-1/4 inch ball valve or hose adapter threads straight in. Dry-fit the valve so the handle swings clear, then seal the threads; support the first length of pipe on its own so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
- Top opening. Norwesco vertical tanks in this size carry a threaded vented lid on top. Call us with the part number if the lid diameter matters for a float, a pump or a fill fitting you already own.
- Vacuum. Never pump out of a polyethylene tank with the top sealed; the vent in the lid is what lets air in as the level falls.
