The Norwesco 75 Gallon Black Vertical Storage Tank is a compact polyethylene vertical tank built for water and general liquid storage where floor space is tight. It holds 75 gallons in a footprint of just 23 by 23 inches and stands 49 inches tall, so it slots into corners, utility rooms, equipment skids, and the bed of a truck without sprawling across the floor. It is molded in black, an opaque color that blocks light from reaching the stored liquid. If you have been searching for a Norwesco vertical storage tank in a black, space-saving size, this is the one.

Will this tank work for my application?

Specific gravity rating tells you how dense a liquid the tank walls are engineered to hold: a 1.5 rating means the tank is built for liquids up to one and a half times the density of water. Filled with water the tank carries roughly 626 pounds of contents, and at full rated capacity it supports up to 938 pounds of liquid weight. Use those numbers when you plan the stand or pad - the load concentrates over that 23-by-23-inch footprint, so the surface needs to be flat, level, and able to carry the weight without flexing. To check your fill volume and weight against what you actually plan to store, run the figures through our Tank Sizing Calculator and the Tank Sizing Guide. For the exact port and lid layout and overall dimensions, see the technical drawing on this page.

Fittings and plumbing connections

Port size, lid diameter, and outlet location for this SKU are shown on the technical drawing rather than pre-listed here, so confirm them against your plumbing before you order. Outlet connections on a polyethylene tank are made with a bulkhead fitting and a gasket matched to the stored liquid, and the thread size has to match your line - so fitting and gasket selection is worth a quick check. We will configure the right fittings and gaskets for your setup; call 866-418-1777 and we will walk through the connection details with you.

Mounting, freeze, and chemical considerations

Because all of that liquid weight bears down on a small base, a stable foundation matters more than it does on a wide low-profile tank. If you are setting this on a concrete pad, our guide to concrete pad sizing for above-ground polyethylene tanks walks through getting the base right. Polyethylene is not freeze-proof: standing water in a 49-inch column can freeze and stress the wall, so cold-climate installs need real freeze-protection planning - the discipline covered in our fire-water reservoir tank design guide applies to any cold-climate water install of this tank. A common mistake to avoid: do not assume a 1.5 specific gravity rating means the tank is approved for any liquid. The rating covers density only - this is a water and general-storage tank. For liquids heavier than 1.5x water or for chemically aggressive service, step up to a higher specific-gravity-rated chemical tank rather than over-filling this water-class tank.

Putting the tank to work

The 75-gallon size is a practical building block for larger systems - a point-of-use reserve, a make-up tank, or a module in a larger storage train. Our overview of industrial water reuse tank topology shows how grey-water, rainwater, and condensate storage get banded and sequenced.

This tank ships LTL freight from the nearest of Norwesco's plants - Fairfield, TX; Griffin, GA; Hanford, CA; Owego, NY; Shawnee, OK; Sheldon, IA; St. Bonifacius, MN; Tooele, UT; Washington Court House, OH; or Washougal, WA - so the crate usually originates close to you and freight stays reasonable. Freight is quoted live to your ZIP: get your number from the Freight Cost Estimator or call us at 866-418-1777 and we will work it out with you.
