The molding is light-duty natural polyethylene, FDA-compliant for potable water, and translucent enough to check your remaining supply at a glance - no sender, no gauge, just look. Full, 8 gallons weighs about 67 lb, a load a plywood shelf handles easily if it is screwed to structure.
Fittings are not pre-molded; Ronco installs them to your order at the Tustin, California plant where they have rotomolded tanks since 1974. Spin-weld or threaded, positioned where you mark them - so print the drawing below and mark your fitting locations before ordering. Nearby sizes: the 8-gallon RV21W at 17.75 x 15.75 x 8.25 inches is squarer and shallower, the 9-gallon RV56W at 20.5 x 12.75 x 8 inches adds a gallon in a lower profile. The rest live under RV water tanks, with marine shapes under boat tanks.
