The Enduraplas 1200 Gallon Yellow Horizontal Leg Tank (SKU THF01200Y) is a 1.9 specific-gravity polyethylene transport tank built for heavy agricultural and industrial liquids that have to move. It holds 1200 gallons in a 102-inch long by 70-inch wide footprint at a 59-inch height, sitting on integral legs so it can ride a flatbed, gooseneck, or skid from field to field. The 1.9 SG rating is the number that defines this tank: it is engineered for liquids far heavier than water, which is why it surfaces under searches like Enduraplas horizontal leg tank, yellow horizontal tank, and horizontal leg tank.

Will it work for your liquid?

On a horizontal leg tank, the weights and the footprint decide everything. Filled with water this tank carries 10,008 lb of contents; at its maximum rated contents weight it carries 19,015 lb, and that headroom is exactly what the 1.9 SG rating buys you for dense fertilizer blends and heavy chemicals. Spread that 19,015 lb of load across the 70-by-102-inch footprint and you can check both your total axle rating and the point loading at the legs against the trailer deck before you ever fill. Note that no fittings are pre-specified on this tank, so the fitting and gasket callouts below are what you source and confirm, not what ships installed. See the technical drawing on this page for port locations, then run your capacity and towing numbers through our Tank Sizing Calculator and the Tank Sizing Guide.

Chemical compatibility

This is a polyethylene tank rated at 1.9 specific gravity. The resin is listed as HDLPE but flagged for confirmation, so confirm HDLPE versus XLPE before putting it into chemical service, since the cross-link choice changes what the shell will hold over time. Per the OEM chemical-resistance chart, compatibility is concentration- and temperature-specific; verify your exact concentration and operating temperature before committing, and match the fitting and gasket to the chemical, not just to the tank.

The mistake to avoid

The most common error on a 1.9 SG transport tank is matching the fitting to convenience instead of the chemical. Standard EPDM gaskets cover most of the list, but watch the exceptions: Viton is called for on hydrochloric, hydrofluoric, hydrofluosilicic, phosphoric, and sulfuric acids plus hydrogen peroxide and sodium hypochlorite; peracetic acid steps up to Aflas gaskets; DEF and peracetic acid require 316 stainless fittings; and sulfuric acid moves up to CPVC. Pair the wrong gasket and you get a slow leak on a tank that is bouncing down the road full. Pair it correctly, confirm the HDLPE-versus-XLPE resin question first, and this tank will carry dense loads season after season. If you are hauling fertilizer blends, read up on tank stratification and the mixing protocol that catches a stratified tank, and how leg tanks fit the applicator and DOT non-roadable trailer scope.
