The Enduraplas 1550 Gallon White Cone Bottom Tank with Stand (SKU THC01550KW) is a full-drain vessel built for batching, blending, and dispensing chemical solutions where the tank needs to empty completely between runs. It stands 95" tall on an 85" diameter footprint, molded from polyethylene in natural white with a 1.9 specific gravity rating, an empty tank weight of 300 lb, and FDA-approved material. It ships from the factory with a 16" threaded vented manway up top and a 3" PP female NPT bulkhead fitting at the cone tip, so you can plumb the drain line directly without adapting the outlet.

Will it hold what you're running?

The 1.9 SG rating is the number that matters here. This tank is engineered to carry contents up to a maximum rated weight of 24,561 lb, versus 12,927 lb for a full charge of plain water. That headroom is why a cone-bottom this size gets specified for dense chemical solutions rather than just water. Size the tank to the fluid you're actually storing: multiply your solution's specific gravity by the water weight to check you stay under the rated ceiling. The Tank Sizing Calculator and Tank Sizing Guide walk that math for a 1550 gallon tank. Because the cone drains toward a single point, the included stand carries the full loaded weight off the ground — see the technical drawing on this page for stand height and outlet clearance. If you're weighing frame options, our stand selection decision tree and the Enduraplas stand compatibility matrix cover the tradeoffs.

Chemical compatibility

This is an Enduraplas polyethylene tank rated to 1.9 specific gravity. The resin is recorded as HDLPE with an open question, so confirm HDLPE versus XLPE with us before committing it to chemical service — that distinction changes what the tank will hold. Compatibility below is referenced from the Snyder Industries OEM chemical resistance chart; because it is applied to an Enduraplas tank and is concentration- and temperature-specific, confirm your exact chemical, concentration, temperature, and both fitting and gasket material against Enduraplas' own rating before ordering.

Chemicals this tank's 1.9 SG rating supports (with the fitting/gasket the chart calls for): Ethylene Glycol 100% (PVC / EPDM), Ferric Chloride 50% (PVC / EPDM), Ferric Sulfate 60% (PVC / EPDM), Hydrochloric Acid 37% (PVC / Viton), Hydrofluoric Acid 48% (PP/PVC / Viton), Hydrofluosilicic Acid 26% (PP/PVC / Viton), Hydrogen Peroxide 50% (PVC / Viton), Peracetic Acid 30% (316SS / Aflas), Phosphoric Acid 85% (PVC / Viton), Polyaluminum Chloride (PVC / EPDM), Potassium Carbonate 50% (PVC / EPDM), Potassium Hydroxide saturated (PVC / EPDM), Propylene Glycol (PP/316SS / EPDM), Sodium Bisulfate (PVC/PP / EPDM), Sodium Bisulfite (PVC/PP / EPDM), Sodium Hypochlorite under 16.5% (PVC / Viton), Sodium Thiosulfate 40% (PVC / EPDM), Sulfuric Acid 98% (CPVC / Viton), and Zinc Orthophosphate (PP/316SS / EPDM). Lower-density solutions the tank also handles include Acetic Acid 60%, Aluminum Sulfate 50%, Calcium Chloride 40%, DEF 32.5% (316SS / EPDM), Urea Solution 50%, Magnesium Chloride 30%, Sodium Carbonate 30%, and Ferrous Sulfate 20%. See the full Chemical Compatibility Database to confirm your service.

The mistake to avoid: matching the tank but not the plumbing. The stock 3" PP outlet is adequate for only a minority of these services — for most of the chemicals above, a fitting swap to PVC, CPVC, or 316SS is the norm, not the exception. Sulfuric Acid 98% needs a CPVC fitting; DEF and Peracetic Acid need 316SS. Gaskets step up too: the strong acids and Sodium Hypochlorite call for Viton, and Peracetic Acid specifically needs an Aflas gasket, not EPDM or Viton. The honest add-on here is a fitting and gasket kit matched to your chemical, not a bigger tank — at 1.9 SG this is already the top-rated tier.
