The Enduraplas 5000 Gallon Black Cone Bottom Tank with Stand (SKU THC05000KB) is a full-drain vessel built for process and chemical duty where you need every gallon out the bottom. It stands 175 inches tall on a 110-inch diameter footprint, weighs 1,100 pounds empty, and carries a 1.9 specific gravity rating molded into the polyethylene wall. The tank drains through a 3-inch PP female NPT bulkhead fitting at the cone tip and is accessed through a 16-inch threaded vented manway up top. It is FDA approved.

Will it work for your job

Start with weight, because a cone bottom on a stand is only as good as what is under it. Filled with water this tank holds 41,700 pounds; at its full 1.9 SG rating the contents alone reach 79,230 pounds, so your pad, anchoring, and the supplied stand all have to carry that load. The 1.9 SG rating is the headline number here - it means this tank is engineered for dense liquids most standard 1.5 SG tanks cannot hold. Run your own math with the Tank Sizing Calculator and the Tank Sizing Guide before you commit. The 3-inch PP bulkhead and 16-inch vented manway are your outlet and fill points; confirm the vented manway stays clear so the tank never pulls a vacuum on drain-down.

Chemical compatibility

Before anything else: the resin on this unit is recorded as HDLPE but unconfirmed. We confirm HDLPE versus XLPE before any chemical order - do not spec against assumed cross-linking, because for a 1.9 SG cone holding something like 98% sulfuric acid the two resins behave differently on stress-crack and permeation. Compatibility below comes from the Snyder Industries OEM chemical resistance chart and is concentration and temperature specific; verify your exact chemical, concentration, temperature, and both fitting and gasket material before service.

At its 1.9 SG rating this tank is suited to the heavier chemistries on that chart, including Hydrochloric Acid (37%, PVC fitting, Viton gasket), Hydrofluoric Acid (48%, PP/PVC, Viton), Hydrogen Peroxide (50%, PVC, Viton), Phosphoric Acid (85%, PVC, Viton), Sulfuric Acid (98%, CPVC, Viton), Sodium Hypochlorite (under 16.5%, PVC, Viton), Ferric Chloride (50%, PVC, EPDM), Ferric Sulfate (60%, PVC, EPDM), Ethylene Glycol (100%, PVC, EPDM), Peracetic Acid (30%, 316SS, Aflas), and Polyaluminum Chloride (PVC, EPDM). Lighter chemistries such as DEF (32.5%, 316SS or PP fittings), Urea Solution (50%, PP/PVC), Acetic Acid (60%), Calcium Chloride (40%), and Sodium Carbonate (30%) only need a 1.5 SG tank or lower, so this 1.9 tank covers them with margin - but note DEF and urea require 316SS or PP wetted parts per the chart, not brass or standard steel. Full details are in our Chemical Compatibility Database.

The mistake to avoid

Do not order this tank against an SG you have not verified, and do not assume the stock outlet is the right wetted part. The supplied outlet is a 3-inch PP female NPT bulkhead - verify the OEM chart's fitting and gasket call-out against that stock PP bulkhead and re-fit if your chemistry needs PVC, CPVC, or 316SS, or a Viton or Aflas seal. And know the ceiling: 1.9 is the maximum poly SG rating, so there is no denser-rated poly tank to step up to - if your service gravity exceeds 1.9, poly is not the material. Confirm the resin, your chemical's concentration and temperature, and your fitting plus gasket materials first, then see the technical drawing on this page for the exact port layout and stand dimensions.

This 5000 gallon cone bottom tank ships LTL freight from our plant in Neche, ND, quoted live to your ZIP through the Freight Cost Estimator. To match the stand, fittings, and SG to your chemistry, call 866-418-1777.
