Match the outlet to your chemistry

The tank ships with a 3-inch PP bulkhead outlet, and that stock fitting is not right for every chemistry on the chart. For PP/EPDM services - the glycols, urea solution, DEF, and the sulfate salts - the factory PP outlet is a match with only a gasket check, which makes this a clean fit for the very common DEF and urea batching duty. But the acids and oxidizers on the list require swapping the outlet before service: Sulfuric Acid at 98% needs a CPVC fitting with a Viton gasket; Hydrochloric Acid, Hydrofluoric Acid, Hydrogen Peroxide, and Sodium Hypochlorite call for PVC with Viton; and Peracetic Acid needs a 316SS fitting with an Aflas gasket. Note that Aflas is a specialty seal specified only for peracetic acid here - it is not a shelf EPDM or Viton, so plan for it if you batch PAA.
