The Enduraplas 8000 Gallon Black Cone Bottom Tank with Stand (SKU THC08000KB) is a full-drain vessel built for batching, dosing, and storage where you need every gallon to empty by gravity. The tank body stands 166" tall on a 144" diameter footprint, molded from polyethylene in black to shield contents from UV and light, is FDA Approved, and carries a 1.9 specific gravity rating that makes this tank a candidate for dense chemistries. Empty tank weight is 2,100 lb; it arrives with a 3" PP female NPT bulkhead fitting at the outlet and a 16" threaded vented manway up top. The stand supports the cone so the entire volume drains to the discharge.
Will it work for your job
Plan around loaded weight, not just gallons. Filled with water this tank and its contents run 66,720 lb, and at its full 1.9 SG rating the contents alone can reach 126,768 lb - so the pad, stand footing, and anchoring have to be engineered for the actual liquid you're storing, not a generic "8000 gallon" number. Run your fluid's specific gravity against the 1.9 rating before you buy: water is 1.0, but many process chemicals sit well above that, and the SG rating is the governing limit here. Use the Tank Sizing Calculator and Tank Sizing Guide to confirm your volume and loaded weight. For matching the vessel to a steel or poly stand, see our stand selection decision tree and the Norwesco, Snyder, and Enduraplas stand compatibility matrix. The technical drawing on this page carries the dimensioned layout.
Chemical compatibility
This is a polyethylene tank rated to 1.9 SG. The resin is recorded as HDLPE but not yet confirmed - confirm HDLPE vs XLPE with us before committing this tank to chemical service, because the two resins behave differently against aggressive media, and that same confirmation matters for FDA-Approved services such as DEF and urea handling. Compatibility below is drawn from the Snyder Industries OEM chemical resistance chart and is concentration- and temperature-specific; confirm your exact chemical, concentration, temperature, and the fitting and gasket materials before ordering. A real advantage here: at the top 1.9 SG rating, this tank already meets the required specific gravity for every chemical on the list, so there is no step-up to a higher-SG tank needed. At that rating this tank can be specified for Ethylene Glycol (100%, PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets), Ferric Chloride (50%, PVC/EPDM), Ferric Sulfate (60%, PVC/EPDM), Hydrochloric Acid (37%, PVC/Viton), Hydrofluoric Acid (48%, PP or PVC/Viton), Hydrofluosilicic Acid (26%, PP or PVC/Viton), Hydrogen Peroxide (50%, PVC/Viton), Peracetic Acid (30%, 316SS/Aflas), Phosphoric Acid (85%, PVC/Viton), Polyaluminum Chloride (PVC/EPDM), Potassium Carbonate (50%, PVC/EPDM), Potassium Hydroxide (saturated, PVC/EPDM), Propylene Glycol (PP or 316SS/EPDM), Sodium Bisulfate (PVC/PP, EPDM), Sodium Bisulfite (PVC/PP, EPDM), Sodium Hypochlorite (under 16.5%, PVC/Viton), Sodium Thiosulfate (40%, PVC/EPDM), Sulfuric Acid (98%, CPVC/Viton), and Zinc Orthophosphate (PP or 316SS/EPDM). Lower-SG chemistries this tank also handles include Acetic Acid (60%, PP/PVC, EPDM), Aluminum Sulfate (50%, PVC/EPDM), Calcium Chloride (40%, PVC/EPDM), DEF (32.5%, 316SS/EPDM), Ferrous Sulfate (20%, PVC/EPDM), Magnesium Chloride (30%, PVC/EPDM), Sodium Carbonate (30%, PVC/EPDM), Urea Solution (50%, PP/PVC, EPDM), and ozonated water (up to 10 PPM, PVC/EPDM). Match the fitting and gasket materials listed above to your service, and cross-check everything in our Chemical Compatibility Database.
The mistake to avoid
Do not assume the standard 3" PP bulkhead and its default gasket fit your chemistry. Several media above require an upgraded fitting and elastomer: the acids and sodium hypochlorite call for Viton or CPVC, peracetic acid needs Aflas, and DEF - which looks benign next to those acids - requires 316SS at the fitting even though the stock outlet is PP. The wrong elastomer fails long before the tank does, so specify the fitting and gasket to the chemical, not to the default.
