Chemical compatibility
This tank is molded polyethylene rated to a 1.9 specific gravity. The costly mistake here is pairing the right tank with the wrong fitting or gasket: EPDM is the default elastomer across most of this list, but the strong acids and oxidizers break that default. Hydrochloric (37%), Hydrofluoric (48%), Hydrofluosilicic, Hydrogen Peroxide (50%), Phosphoric (85%), and Sodium Hypochlorite (<16.5%) all require Viton gaskets; Sulfuric Acid (98%) needs CPVC fittings with Viton, not the PVC that covers most of the list; and Peracetic Acid (30%) is the lone pairing that demands 316SS fittings with Aflas. Note too that DEF (32.5%) takes 316SS fittings - not the cheap plastic most buyers assume for a mild fluid - while the 50% Urea Solution runs on PP/PVC.
