Where a 28 inch tank fits
Twenty-eight inches by 28 inches is a footprint that fits between two machine bases, on half a pallet position, inside a bunded tray built for a drum, on a small dosing skid, in the bay of a service body or against a plant room wall without narrowing the walkway, and at 54 inches tall it holds 120 gallons while doing it. It goes through a standard doorway upright. Check the height before the floor: 54 inches plus room above it to get the lid off and a fill line in, measured to the lowest duct, light or shelf over the spot rather than to the ceiling. Underneath, the base carries everything. A rotationally moulded floor bears on everything it touches and nothing else, so the tank wants continuous flat contact with a slab, a solid deck or a stand with a full top, never two bearers with air between them. What goes in it
Water, liquid fertilizer, wash water and the treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles are the normal loads. A 1.5 specific gravity rating means liquids up to 1.5 times the weight of water; concentrated acids and some brines are heavier than that, so tell us the liquid before you order and we will confirm which tank carries it. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 1.25 inch outlet low in the side wall. Buy the valve to match that size. Dry-fit it so the handle swings clear of the tank, seal the threads, and support the first length of pipe on its own so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware. Call us with the part number if you need the fitting material and thread confirmed before you buy the valve.
- Lid. An 8 inch lid on top. Wide enough for a hose, a float switch or a small pump inlet. Never pump out of a polyethylene tank with the top sealed; air has to get in as the level falls.
- Placement. Turn the tank so the outlet points where the pipe will run before it is filled. A full tank does not turn.
