Before you commit this tank to any chemical service, confirm the resin with us by phone. Our data lists the resin as HDLPE with a question mark, meaning we have not yet verified whether this unit is high-density linear polyethylene (HDLPE) or cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE). The two resins do not share identical chemical-resistance profiles, and the compatibility list below assumes a known resin - treat it as a starting point, not a guarantee, until resin is confirmed. This tank is black polyethylene rated to 1.5 specific gravity. Watch the fitting material on the outliers: DEF requires 316 stainless, not PVC, and most everything else here runs PVC or PP with EPDM gaskets. The mistake to avoid on this 1.5 SG tank is loading a chemistry that needs a heavier 1.9 SG vessel. Ethylene glycol, ferric chloride, ferric sulfate, polyaluminum chloride, potassium carbonate, potassium hydroxide, sodium bisulfate, sodium bisulfite, sodium thiosulfate, and zinc orthophosphate all require a 1.9 SG-rated cone bottom tank (PVC/PP fittings, EPDM gaskets). Several others step up the elastomer too: hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, hydrofluosilicic acid, hydrogen peroxide, phosphoric acid, and sodium hypochlorite all need 1.9 SG with Viton gaskets, sulfuric acid needs 1.9 SG with CPVC fittings and Viton, and peracetic acid needs 1.9 SG with 316 stainless fittings and Aflas gaskets.
