Norwesco Below Ground Tanks
Norwesco below ground tanks are one-piece polyethylene tanks made to be buried. There are two lines: Norwesco septic tanks for wastewater, and Norwesco underground water tanks for water storage. Both are seamless, and both are made only for burial.
Choose your line
- Norwesco Plastic Septic Tanks: septic tanks from 500 to 1,500 gallons in one or two compartments, pump tanks from 200 to 525 gallons, and versions made for Florida, the Carolinas and Canada.
- Norwesco Underground Water Tanks: water cisterns, multi-use underground tanks and large underground tanks, from 225 to 20,000 gallons.

- New and replacement septic systems for homes and cabins
- Pump tanks that feed a drain field or mound system
- Buried cisterns for well water, hauled water or rainwater
- Water reserves for fire protection and livestock
Sizes and features
Most of these tanks have a 20 inch manhole on top. To bring a lid up to grade, Norwesco makes 6, 15 and 24 inch manhole extensions and risers with lids. The Riser & Extension Options line on each tank page lists the parts that fit and how many you need. You'll find them in Norwesco Accessories. Before you order
- Below ground only. Septic and underground tanks are not for above-ground use. For a tank that sits on a pad, see Norwesco Vertical Water Tanks.
- Check your permit. Septic tanks must be approved where they're installed. The State Septic Approval line on each septic tank page lists the states.
- Follow the install guide. Dig, bed and backfill the way Norwesco's installation instructions for your tank call for.
- Not for fuel. Don't use these tanks for gasoline, diesel or any other fuel.

Can a septic tank be used for water?
Use a water tank for water and a septic tank for wastewater. The underground water cisterns are molded from FDA-compliant polyethylene.
