What it is for

What to check before you buy

1. Access. The tank is 665 inches long. Before anything else, confirm that a flatbed carrying it can reach the site and that a crane or a large excavator can lift it from the truck to the hole without dragging it.
2. The hole. Bed and backfill it to Norwesco's installation instructions: a polyethylene tank is backfilled with water in it, in lifts, so the wall is supported from both sides as the hole closes. Groundwater at the site changes the design; tell your installer and us.
3. The manholes. Two, each with a 24 inch cover. Decide the burial depth first, because the risers that bring the covers to grade are ordered with the tank: Norwesco's 6 inch riser N-64410, one for each manhole.
4. Traffic. Tell us if anything heavier than a lawn mower will cross the tank. Burial depth, cover and traffic loading are decided together, and Norwesco's instructions set the limits.
5. Inlets, outlets and vent. The tank is supplied with the manway covers; connections are cut and fitted on site to suit your plumbing. Norwesco's drawing, linked under Technical Drawing on this page, gives the manhole positions and the rib layout.
