Norwesco septic tanks are one-piece polyethylene tanks made to be buried as part of a septic system. Norwesco septic tanks in this category run from 500 to 1,500 gallons, in one compartment and two compartment designs, and many carry IAPMO certification. The category also has septic pump tanks, multi-use underground tanks and job shack holding tanks, plus the extensions and risers that go with them.
Styles in this category
- Septic tanks (500 to 1,500 gallons) in one or two compartments, in standard and low profile designs. Some come preplumbed, and some come with loose plumbing for you to install.
- Pump tanks (200 to 525 gallons) hold effluent for a pump, including a 300 gallon deep bury pump tank.
- State and country versions. Some tanks are made for Florida only, one for South and North Carolina, and some for Canada.
- Job shack holding tanks (200 to 500 gallons) are the exception: they're made to sit above ground at job sites and cabins.
Sizes and features
Most septic tanks have one or two 20 inch manholes. To bring a lid up to grade, Norwesco makes 6, 15 and 24 inch manhole extensions and 23, 25 and 36 inch risers with lids. The Riser & Extension Options line on each tank page lists the parts that fit and how many you need. Check each product's specifications for the exact dimensions, compartments, inlet and outlet, and certifications.
Before you order
- Check your state. Septic tanks must be approved where they're installed. The State Septic Approval line on each tank page lists the states where that tank is approved. Your permit or system design will say what size and style you need.
- Below ground only. Septic and pump tanks are made to be buried and are not for above-ground use. For an above-ground tank, choose a job shack holding tank.
- Not for fuel. Don't use these tanks for gasoline, diesel or any other fuel.
Questions we get
One compartment or two?
A two compartment tank has a wall that splits it into two chambers. Your permit or septic designer will tell you which one your system needs.
What's the difference between preplumbed and loose plumbing?
Preplumbed tanks come with the inlet and outlet plumbing in place. Loose plumbing tanks ship with the parts for you or your installer to put in.
Can I use a septic tank to store water?
Use a water tank for water. See Norwesco Underground Water Tanks for buried water and cistern tanks, or Norwesco Below Ground Tanks to see both lines. Lids and risers are in Norwesco Accessories.
