Water is the heaviest thing most RVs carry, and the RV28W's 55 gallons work out to about 459 lb at 8.34 lb per gallon - a payload worth planning around, which is why 55 has become such a common fresh-water size: a real week of capacity without the structural demands of the biggest tanks. The RV28W is one of Ronco Plastics' molds at that sweet spot, a 79 lb light-duty shell.
The material is FDA-compliant natural polyethylene, translucent enough that the water line reads straight through the wall - the simplest level gauge ever invented. One-piece rotomolded construction means no seams anywhere on a tank that will flex with the chassis.
Its shape is documented on the drawing below; print the drawing below, verify the fit, and mark your fitting locations, because Ronco installs fittings per order - spin-weld or threaded - at the Tustin, California plant it has run since 1974. At the same capacity, compare the 55-gallon RV48W at 40 x 24 x 14 inches, the 55-gallon RV32W, and the 55-gallon RV59W; the rest are under RV water tanks.
