Water is the heaviest thing most RVs carry, and the RV28W's 55 gallons work out to about 459 lb at 8.34 lb per gallon - a payload worth planning around, which is why 55 has become such a common fresh-water size: a real week of capacity without the structural demands of the biggest tanks. The RV28W is one of Ronco Plastics' molds at that sweet spot, a 79 lb light-duty shell.

The material is FDA-compliant natural polyethylene, translucent enough that the water line reads straight through the wall - the simplest level gauge ever invented. One-piece rotomolded construction means no seams anywhere on a tank that will flex with the chassis.
