The Snyder Industries 2500 Gallon XLPE Cone Bottom Tank is built for full-drain chemical service, molded in crosslinked linear polyethylene (XLPE) and rated to a 1.5 specific gravity. It holds 2,500 gallons in a black tank standing 104 inches tall on a 95 by 95 inch footprint. The cone bottom drains completely to the center outlet, which is why operators reach for this geometry on batching, mixing, and dosing applications where you cannot leave product sitting on the tank floor.

Will this Snyder cone bottom tank work for my job?

Sizing is where most cone bottom buyers get caught, so run the numbers before you order. Filled with water this tank carries 20,850 pounds, and at its full 1.5 SG rating it can hold 31,275 pounds of contents. A cone bottom has no flat base, so that load rides entirely on a stand. Size the stand to the 31,275 lb max-rated load, not the 20,850 lb water figure — a stand rated only for water will be under-spec the moment you fill it with a 1.5 SG chemical. Chemical compatibility

This is an XLPE tank rated to 1.5 specific gravity, and every chemical decision comes down to concentration, temperature, and the SG of your fluid. This tank ships with no fittings pre-configured — spec your bulkhead outlet, gaskets, and any sidewall fittings to match your chemical from the materials listed below. The chemicals here are listed for an XLPE tank at the 1.5 SG rating; always verify against the OEM chemical-resistance chart for your exact concentration and operating temperature.

Note the exceptions before you order fittings: DEF requires 316SS, acetic acid and urea require PP/PVC, and the higher-SG hydrofluosilicic acid requires Viton gaskets — do not default everything to PVC/EPDM. A handful of common chemicals also exceed the 1.5 SG rating of this tank and need a higher 1.9 SG cone bottom instead: Ethylene Glycol, Ferric Chloride, Ferric Sulfate, Hydrofluosilicic Acid (Viton gaskets), Polyaluminum Chloride, Potassium Carbonate, Potassium Hydroxide, Propylene Glycol, and Sodium Thiosulfate. The mistake to avoid

The costly error on a chemical cone bottom is matching the resin and SG to the wrong fluid. This tank is XLPE at 1.5 SG. Run a heavier chemical such as ferric chloride or ethylene glycol in it and you have under-rated the wall, no matter how chemically compatible the fluid looks. Confirm your fluid's specific gravity and concentration against the OEM resistance chart, and spec PVC, PP, or 316SS fittings with EPDM or Viton gaskets to match — the wrong gasket fails long before the tank does.
