It stands 144 inches (12 feet) tall on a 90 x 90 inch footprint, which is 7.5 x 7.5 feet of pad, and ships in natural white. The cone geometry forces full drainage of process liquids, slurries, and metering chemistries that you do not want settling on a flat floor. Because it requires a stand or structural support to hold the cone clear of the ground, plan the mount, the 12-foot vertical clearance, and the lift before the tank arrives.

The factory openings shown on the technical drawing on this page are exactly three: a flange, an 18-inch PE threaded and vented fitting, and a manway with 15-inch access for inspection and cleaning. There is no listed bottom-apex outlet, so if your process needs to drain at the cone tip (the whole reason to buy a cone tank), verify that discharge point is one of these openings or spec a bulkhead or flange there before you order plumbing. Chemical compatibility

This is an XLPE (crosslinked) tank rated to 1.5 specific gravity. XLPE resists a broader set of aggressive chemistries than standard polyethylene, but the SG rating sets a hard ceiling on how dense a liquid you can store. At 1.5 SG and EPDM gaskets, this tank suits Acetic Acid at 60% (PP/PVC fittings, see Acetic Acid), Aluminum Sulfate at 50% (PVC, Aluminum Sulfate), Calcium Chloride at 40% (PVC, Calcium Chloride), Ferrous Sulfate at 20% (PVC, Ferrous Sulfate), Magnesium Chloride at 30% (PVC, Magnesium Chloride), Sodium Carbonate at 30% (PVC, Sodium Carbonate), Urea Solution at 50% (PP/PVC, Urea Solution), and Ozonated Water up to 10 PPM (PVC). DEF at 32.5% is compatible too, but unlike the PVC crowd it calls for 316 stainless steel fittings (DEF) — do not cheap out on PVC at the DEF connections. Every one of these uses an EPDM gasket; match the fitting and gasket material to the chemical, not just the tank wall.

Several common chemistries are too dense for a 1.5 SG tank and require the higher 1.9 SG version instead: Ethylene Glycol, Ferric Chloride, Ferric Sulfate, Hydrofluosilicic Acid, Polyaluminum Chloride, Potassium Carbonate, Potassium Hydroxide, Propylene Glycol, and Sodium Thiosulfate. Note that Ferric Sulfate and Ferric Chloride (1.9 SG) are different chemicals from Ferrous Sulfate (1.5 SG, listed above) — do not confuse them. Hydrofluosilicic Acid is also the one chemistry here that needs Viton gaskets, not EPDM, so if any chemistry on your site touches Viton, do not default to an EPDM gasket kit. If your application is on this denser list, do not order this 1.5 SG tank; step up to the 1.9 SG version and check those chemistries in our Chemical Compatibility Database first. The mistake to avoid

The single most expensive error on a cone bottom chemical tank is matching the wrong specific gravity. This is a 1.5 SG tank: storing a denser liquid shortens its life and voids the rating. Equally important, fitting and gasket material drive chemical survival as much as the tank wall does, so a PVC fitting where the chart calls for PP, 316SS, or Viton becomes the failure point.
