A 3 inch Schedule 80 CPVC siphon tube, slip fit
Part number 34700910 is Snyder's 3 inch siphon tube in Schedule 80 CPVC with a slip fit end. A siphon tube is a short length of pipe that sits inside the tank on the back of a fitting and moves the point the liquid is drawn from. On a flat-bottom tank with a sidewall outlet, the fitting has to sit a little way up the wall, which leaves liquid below it that a straight outlet can never reach. A siphon tube turned down toward the floor lets the outlet draw that last few inches. This one is 12 inches long, about 3.94 inches across, and weighs 2 lb. Schedule 80 CPVC is the heavy-wall, higher-temperature grade. The 3 inch size has to match the fitting it slips into.

What to check before you buy
- The fitting. The tube slips into the inside of a 3 inch fitting. Tell us the fitting part number and we confirm the pairing with Snyder before the order ships. Snyder's drawing for the tube is linked on this page under Technical Drawing.
- The reach. At 12 inches the tube is sized for where Snyder puts its sidewall outlets on larger tanks. Compare it with the height of your outlet above the tank floor, on the tank's own drawing, before you decide it solves the problem.
- The liquid and its temperature. CPVC takes more heat than PVC and handles many chemicals that PVC does not. Check the liquid against CPVC, and tell us the service temperature if it runs warm.

Installing it
The tube is fitted from inside the tank, so it goes in while the tank is empty and before the manway is out of reach. Dry-fit it to the fitting, turn it so the open end points at the floor and sits clear of the wall, and only then make the slip joint up with the cement that matches the material, following the cement maker's cure time before the first fill. Leave a gap between the tube and the tank floor so the outlet can draw. Fill with water the first time and watch the outlet run down.
