Bulkhead, vent and manway
- Outlet: 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, at the base; tell us the liquid when ordering and the fitting is matched to it, with a flanged transition, a flexible connector to hard pipe, and the valve supported off the pad in the material the chemical calls for.
- Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway, 153 inches up; a platform with a rail for anyone who opens it. Fill down a dip tube, not over the rim; run the vent outside on a chemical that fumes; and size that vent to the truck's pump.
- Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.
Nearly thirteen feet of liquid above a 3 inch outlet is a strong flooded suction, and the outlet drains a full tank in a working shift; mount the pump below the outlet so it primes by gravity, and a low-level float shuts it off before it runs dry. Keep the manway closed against vapor loss, label the one chemical the tank holds, and inspect the headspace wall from the manway with a light. Cold climates: heat-trace or insulate the outlet valve and the first pipe run, and stop worrying about the body, which ices from the top down without harm.
Chemical duty at 6,900
