The Norwesco 20 gallon vertical liquid storage tank, part number 44846, is a white polyethylene tank 16 inches in diameter and 28 inches tall, weighing 15 lb empty. It comes with a 3/4 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting as the outlet and an 8 inch threaded vented lid on top. Where a 20 gallon tank goes
Twenty gallons is the size for a day tank on a chemical feed pump, a mixing vessel for a batch of treatment solution, make-up water at a wash station, or a small reserve beside a machine. It is still a one person tank when empty and a two person tank when full, so it gets placed once, at the point of use, with a line run to it. A 16 inch footprint fits a shelf, a cabinet or the corner of a pump house, and at 28 inches the lid is a comfortable working height on the floor or a low bench. Set it on a flat, level, continuous surface that carries the whole base, strap it to a wall or rail where it can be bumped, and keep it out of direct sun where you can. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 3/4 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting low in the wall. A small ball valve or a pump suction threads straight into it; support the valve so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
- Lid. An 8 inch threaded vented lid on top, wide enough to fill from a jug or a hose and to get a hand inside to clean. The vent lets air move as the level changes; never seal it.
