The Norwesco 10 gallon vertical liquid storage tank, part number 44844, is a white polyethylene tank 12 inches in diameter and 26 inches tall, weighing 10 lb empty. What a 10 gallon tank is for
Ten gallons is a working supply, not storage: a day tank feeding a metering or dosing pump, make-up liquid at a bench, a small reserve beside a piece of equipment, a tank that lives in a cabinet or on a shelf in a pump house. One person moves it empty and nobody moves it full, so it goes where it will stay for the shift and the line comes to it. A 12 inch footprint sits inside a cabinet, in the corner of a pump house or on a bench, and at 26 inches tall the lid is at a comfortable working height on a bench and easy to see into from standing when the tank is on the floor. It needs a flat, level, continuous surface under the whole base; a small tank on a warped shelf bears on two corners instead of four. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 3/4 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting low in the wall. A small ball valve or a pump suction threads straight into it; support the valve so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
- Lid. An 8 inch threaded vented lid on top, wide enough to fill from a jug or a small hose and to get a hand inside to clean. The vent lets air move as the level changes; never seal it.
