Full, the tank puts 16,680 lb of water through its floor onto whatever it stands on, and a rotomolded base bears on every inch it touches and nowhere else. The pad has to be flat, level, continuous under the whole 90 inch circle, built wider than the tank rather than to its edge, and shaped so overflow runs away from the rim. Strap or band the empty tank the day it lands; an empty seven foot shell is a sail in wind, and the bands go on and get tensioned before the first fill, not after. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the wall. Your valve or pump suction threads straight into it. Support the valve and the first length of pipe on their own so the fitting carries water, not hardware.
2. Inlet. A 1-1/2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting for the fill line from the well, the pump or the downspout filter.
3. Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top: wide enough to fill from a hose, to drop a float switch through, and to get an arm and a brush inside to clean. The vent lets air in and out as the level moves, so never plug it.
