Several common process chemicals are too dense or aggressive for this 1.5 SG model and require a 1.9 specific-gravity tank instead — buying up front saves a return. Those include Ethylene Glycol, Ferric Chloride, Ferric Sulfate, Hydrochloric Acid, Hydrofluoric Acid, Hydrofluosilicic Acid, Hydrogen Peroxide, Peracetic Acid, Phosphoric Acid, Polyaluminum Chloride, Potassium Carbonate, Potassium Hydroxide, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Bisulfate, Sodium Bisulfite, Sodium Hypochlorite, Sodium Thiosulfate, Sulfuric Acid, and Zinc Orthophosphate. Gasket choice matters as much as the tank rating: hydrochloric, hydrofluoric, hydrofluosilicic, phosphoric, sulfuric acid, hydrogen peroxide, and sodium hypochlorite all call for Viton rather than EPDM (sulfuric also wants a CPVC fitting), while peracetic acid needs a 316SS fitting with an Aflas gasket.
