A 2500 gallon 30 degree cone bottom tank for plant scale batching
The Norwesco 2500 gallon 30 degree cone bottom tank, part number 40066, is a white polyethylene tank 96 inches in diameter and 105 inches tall, weighing 395 lb empty. The 30 degree cone drains faster and more completely than Norwesco's 15 degree tank of the same volume and carries the odd settled solid out with the liquid, in a tank that is still shorter than a steep cone would be at 2500 gallons. It comes with a 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the point of the cone and a 16 inch threaded vented manway on top. The rating is 1.5 specific gravity, 12.52 lb per gallon. Norwesco states the resin is FDA compliant, the service limit is 120 F, and the warranty is 3 years. It needs Norwesco's stand, part number 64076, sold separately. For liquids heavier than 1.5 times water, the same tank is made at a 1.9 rating as the 2500 gallon 30 degree heavy duty cone bottom tank.

Where it goes
Fertilizer blending at a retail or co-op scale, brine and water treatment chemical batching, and bulk storage where the tank is emptied between fills. At 105 inches before the stand goes under it, this is a tank for a high bay or an outdoor pad; measure the ceiling, the door and the route in first. What goes in it
Water, liquid fertilizer, brine and the common chemicals polyethylene handles, up to 1.5 times the weight of water and under 120 F. Check the liquid in the chemical compatibility guide before the first fill; urea solution, calcium chloride, sodium hypochlorite, ferric chloride and sodium bisulfite are the entries buyers of this size ask about. Openings, fittings and the stand
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the point of the cone. With a full tank above it the fitting sees real head: fit the valve before the tank is seated and support the first length of pipe on its own so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware. If you need to empty the tank quickly, tell us; a larger outlet is a different part number.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway, reached from a platform or a ladder at this height. Plan the fill and the level sender so routine work does not need a climb.
- Stand. Norwesco's stand 64076 is made for this 96 inch, 30 degree cone. Its height sets what fits under the outlet; measure the valve or pump before you order.
- Floor. A 96 inch circle, flat, level and continuous, carrying the full weight of tank and contents at the stand feet. The pad design is your installer's call.
