A 300 gallon black water tank that stands over seven feet on a 35 inch circle
The Norwesco 300 gallon vertical water storage tank, part number 41530, is the tall 300: a black polyethylene tank 35 inches in diameter and 89 inches tall, weighing 78 lb empty. Head and footprint: why the tall 300 exists
At 89 inches, the water surface of a full tank stands nearly seven and a half feet above the outlet. That is the most head of any tank in this family, and it is the reason to take a 35 inch footprint instead of something wider: it runs a gravity line a long way across a property, keeps a pump flooded, and feeds troughs, benches or a wash station well below the pad without a switch. The buyers are the ones who need pressure without power, or who have a narrow slot beside a building and a tall roof over it. The trade is the same as every tall tank, only more so. Full, it carries 2502 lb on a 35 inch circle more than seven feet in the air, so it must be strapped to structure or to anchors set in the pad before the first fill, and the pad must be flat, level, continuous and poured wider than the floor. The manway is out of reach from the ground, so fill through the inlet, put the level gauge low, and plan a safe way up for the yearly clean. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the wall. A 2 inch valve, camlock or hose adapter threads straight in, and a 2 inch drain empties the tank quickly. Support the valve and the first length of hose so the fitting carries water, not hardware.
- Inlet. A 1-1/2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting for the fill line or the overflow. Run an overflow to daylight away from the base so a full tank never washes out its own pad.
- Manway. A 16 inch vented manway on top: wide enough to fill from a hose or a pump, drop a float in, and get a hand and a brush inside to clean. The vent lets air in and out as the level changes; never plug it.

The other 300, and the sizes either side
The wide 300 is the 300 gallon vertical water tank, part number 41532, much shorter on a wider circle; buy that one where headroom is tight or you want the manway within reach.
