The Norwesco 300 Gallon Plastic Water Storage Tank (SKU N-41532) is a vertical polyethylene water tank measuring 46 inches in diameter by 50 inches tall, holding 300 gallons of water. It is the more compact of the two 300-gallon Norwesco verticals: this one carries a 46-inch footprint and a low 50-inch height, while the alternate 35" x 89" model trades footprint for height when overhead clearance is tight. If you are weighing vertical storage tank sizes against your space and refill cycle, the Tank Sizing Calculator and Tank Sizing Guide help you match capacity to what you actually have.

Will it hold up for your job

This is a vertical water storage tank molded from polyethylene with a specific gravity rating of 1.0, which covers water and water-weight liquids at standard density. Filled to its full 300 gallons, the tank carries roughly 2,502 pounds of water, so plan the pad, base ring, and any tie-downs around that fully loaded weight rather than the empty tank. The 46-inch diameter sets the slab or stand size you need. Set the tank on a smooth, level base that fully supports the entire bottom diameter; polyethylene tanks rely on continuous bottom support, and a partial or uneven base concentrates load and shortens tank life. For outlet and fitting locations and the exact base dimension, see the technical drawing on this page.

Plumbing it without leaks

Outlet and bulkhead fittings, and the gaskets that seal them, have to be matched to the molded fitting size shown on the drawing. An undersized fitting or a wrong-durometer gasket is the most common leak point on poly tanks, so confirm the fitting and outlet sizes before you order gaskets or bulkhead hardware. If anything on the drawing is unclear, call us at 866-418-1777 and we will confirm the sizes with you before you buy.

The mistake to avoid

The 1.0 specific gravity rating is the line to watch. This tank is rated for contents up to water density. If you are considering anything heavier than water, such as a fertilizer blend or a chemical solution with a higher specific gravity, this model is not the right choice; that service needs a tank rated for the heavier liquid. Need to store a liquid heavier than water? Run the numbers in the Tank Sizing Calculator or call 866-418-1777 and we will match you to a higher specific-gravity-rated tank. Keep this one in water and water-equivalent duty, size it for the volume you draw down between refills, and it will give you long, predictable service.

Sizing it into a larger system

A 300-gallon vertical at this footprint slots well into rural and remote water setups. If you are building toward a fire-water reserve at a site without municipal hydrants, our guide on fire-water reservoir tank design and NFPA 22 sizing walks through reserve sizing and cold-climate freeze protection. For greywater, rainwater, or HVAC condensate capture, the industrial water reuse tank topology guide covers quality-banded storage trains. For a deeper walk-through of this exact tank, see the 300 Gallon 46" x 50" buyer's guide.

This tank ships LTL freight from the Norwesco plant in Burnet, Texas, with freight quoted live to your ZIP. Because LTL transit and cost scale with distance from Burnet, buyers far from Texas should pull a number early with the Freight Cost Estimator, or call us at 866-418-1777 and we will quote the tank and freight together.
