The Bushman 2500 Gallon Dark Green Rainwater Collection Tank is a 2,500-gallon polyethylene tank built for above-ground rainwater harvesting, with a square 96 by 96 inch footprint and a 95-inch height. The dark green color helps it blend into landscaping and limits light penetration that can encourage algae growth in stored rainwater. Whether you are catching roof runoff for irrigation, livestock water, or a rural fire-water reserve, this Bushman rain tank stores serious volume on a compact 8-foot-square pad.

Will it work for your site?

This is a water tank rated at a specific gravity of 1.0, meaning it is engineered to hold water and rainwater rather than denser chemical liquids. At capacity it carries 2,500 gallons, and the full water weight reaches 20,850 pounds, so your foundation has to be designed around that load. The tank measures 96 inches wide by 96 inches long by 95 inches tall, giving you a square 96.0 x 96.0 inch footprint to design and pour a pad around.

Know what arrives drilled versus blank before you plan your plumbing. The three flat areas on the wall, a 12-inch by 14-inch flat, an 8-inch by 14-inch flat, and a 12-inch by 24-inch flat, are molded landing pads you drill and fit on site for your own penetrations, not pre-cut ports. The connections that ship configured are the 4-inch outlet and overflow kit and a 1-inch bulkhead fitting in polypropylene with an EPDM gasket. That 4-inch overflow lets a roof-fed tank shed surplus during heavy rain without backing up your collection lines. EPDM is the seal elastomer on the bulkhead, so confirm it suits your water chemistry if you are running chlorinated or treated supply. For exact fitting placement and bulkhead heights, see the technical drawing on this page.

Sizing and foundation

A full tank puts 20,850 pounds of static load on its base, so a properly engineered, level pad is not optional, that is the design load your pad has to carry. Our concrete pad sizing guide for above-ground polyethylene tanks walks through the ACI 360R-10 framework for getting that base right. If you are still settling on capacity, the Tank Sizing Calculator and Tank Sizing Guide help you match storage volume to your catchment area and demand. For rainwater-specific setup, our first-flush diverter sizing guide built on the Texas Manual on Rainwater Harvesting covers keeping the first dirty wash of roof debris out of your stored supply. Planning a rural fire reserve? See our fire-water reservoir tank design guide for NFPA 22 sizing discipline and cold-climate freeze protection.

The mistake to avoid

This tank is rated for water at a specific gravity of 1.0. Do not press it into service for fertilizers, brine, or chemical storage that exceeds that rating; contents heavier than 1.0 need a tank rated to the specific gravity of the actual liquid. Keep this one on water, rainwater, and reuse duty where it belongs, and call 866-418-1777 if you need a higher-SG equivalent for denser contents. If you are aggregating grey water, rainwater, and HVAC condensate, our industrial water reuse tank topology guide covers quality-banded storage trains and treatment sequencing.

This Bushman 2500 gallon rainwater tank ships LTL freight, quoted live to your ZIP, from our plant in Fairfield, Texas. Because it is roughly 8 feet square and 95 inches tall, confirm you have forklift or boom offload at delivery for a unit this size. Get a real number for your address with the Freight Cost Estimator, or call 866-418-1777 to talk through fittings, foundation, and freight before you order.
