2,550-gallon black water storage tank built for safe potable water storage. Manufactured by Norwesco from virgin linear polyethylene (HDPE) rated to handle liquids up to 9.2 pounds per gallon. FDA approved for contact with potable water, ensuring safe storage for drinking water and food-grade liquids.
The 2550 Gallon Vertical Water Storage Tank in Black is designed for commercial operations, agricultural producers, and industrial facilities with serious storage demands. With 2,550 gallons of storage capacity, this tank serves as the backbone of serious safe potable water storage operations. It handles the volume demands of commercial and agricultural applications where running out of supply is not an option.
Constructed from virgin linear polyethylene (HDPE) using a single-piece rotational molding process that eliminates seams, weld lines, and potential leak points. With a 1.1 specific gravity rating, this tank handles liquids up to 9.2 pounds per gallon, which covers water and most common liquid storage applications. UV-resistant black pigmentation provides maximum outdoor durability and inhibits algae growth in stored liquids. Maximum operating temperature is 120 F / 48 C, with UV stabilizers compounded directly into the resin for outdoor service life.
This tank measures 95 inches tall with a 93-inch diameter, requiring 47.2 square feet of level ground. Empty weight is 325 pounds. At full capacity with a 1.1 SG liquid, expect approximately 23,719 pounds on the foundation. Requires an engineered reinforced concrete foundation designed by a structural professional for the full loaded weight. Install on a level, compacted surface. Ensure adequate clearance above for lid access and around the perimeter for plumbing connections and visual inspection.
Factory-installed fittings include a 2" outlet and a 1.5" inlet, both with NPT threading for direct connection to standard schedule 40 or schedule 80 PVC, polypropylene, or stainless steel plumbing. The 16" lid opening provides ample access for interior inspection, cleaning, and installation of float switches, level sensors, or submersible pumps. Install schedule 80 PVC or stainless steel piping on all 2" NPT connections. Full-port ball valves, expansion loops for thermal movement, and proper pipe support are essential at this scale.
