Several denser or more aggressive chemicals are too much for this 1.5 SG tank and need a higher 1.9 SG build instead, and the upgrade often drives a gasket and fitting change too. Sulfuric acid needs the 1.9 SG tank with CPVC fittings and Viton gaskets; hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, hydrofluosilicic acid, hydrogen peroxide, phosphoric acid, and sodium hypochlorite step up to Viton gaskets; and peracetic acid needs 316 stainless fittings with Aflas gaskets. Also on the 1.9 SG list: ethylene glycol, ferric chloride, ferric sulfate, polyaluminum chloride, potassium carbonate, potassium hydroxide, propylene glycol, sodium bisulfate, sodium bisulfite, sodium thiosulfate, and zinc orthophosphate.
