The Norwesco 150 gallon horizontal leg tank, part number 41468, is a white polyethylene transport and storage tank 43 inches long, 34 inches wide and 36 inches tall, weighing 67 lb empty. On a truck, a trailer or the ground
At 43 by 34 inches the footprint fits across a short pickup bed with room beside it for a pump and a hose reel, and at 36 inches tall it stands above the bed rails, so it rides with the bed open; measure the bed before you order. Full of water it weighs about 1300 lb with the tank itself, so a half ton pickup carries it but not much else; check the payload plate on the door jamb before you load it. Strap it through the moulded leg recesses, never over the lid, and pull the straps tight again after the first few miles because a leg tank settles once it is full. On the ground it needs a flat, continuous surface under all the legs; a tank with one leg hanging over an edge cracks at that leg. What goes in it
Water for livestock and spray rigs, liquid fertilizer, and the common treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles are the normal loads. Before anything else goes in, check the liquid in our chemical compatibility guide; the entries for urea solution, DEF, calcium chloride, sodium hypochlorite and sulfuric acid are the ones leg tank buyers ask about most. Liquids heavier than 1.5 times water, which is 12.52 lb per gallon, need a heavy duty tank, not this one. Keep the contents under 120 F. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the end wall. Your ball valve, camlock or hose adapter threads straight into it. Support the valve and the first length of hose on the truck bed so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
- Fill lid. A threaded vented lid on top. The vent lets air in as you draw liquid out; without it a pump pulls the tank walls inward. Keep the lid on while you drive so the load does not slosh out over the cab.
