It stands 60 inches tall on a 42 by 42 inch footprint, holds a rated 350 gallons, and the 20-degree cone keeps solids moving toward the outlet instead of stranding product on a flat floor. The open top gives you direct access for filling, manual additions, mixing, and inspection. Will it work for your application?

This open-top cone-tank is built for solids handling and complete drainage rather than long-term sealed storage. Filled with water the contents weigh about 2,919 lb; at the tank's full 1.5 specific gravity rating the contents can reach roughly 4,378 lb. A cone-bottom tank cannot sit on a flat slab: it ships without a stand and must sit in a matching cone-bottom stand rated for that full 4,378 lb, so spec the stand and slab for the heavier figure, never the water figure. Chemical compatibility

This tank is molded from polyethylene with a 1.5 specific gravity rating. The resin grade reads as HDLPE on our data; confirm HDLPE versus XLPE for your specific chemical service before committing, because crosslinked and high-density linear polyethylene differ in chemical resistance. Within the 1.5 SG rating it is a strong fit for fluid-handling fleets: DEF at 32.5% (316SS fittings, EPDM gaskets) and urea solution at 50% (PP or PVC fittings, EPDM) both run well in this tank. It is also rated for acetic acid at 60% (PP/PVC, EPDM), aluminum sulfate at 50% (PVC, EPDM), calcium chloride at 40% (PVC, EPDM), ferrous sulfate at 20% (PVC, EPDM), magnesium chloride at 30% (PVC, EPDM), sodium carbonate at 30% (PVC, EPDM), and ozonated water up to 10 PPM (PVC, EPDM). Chemicals that need a higher-SG tank

Several common process chemicals exceed the 1.5 SG rating of this tank and require a 1.9 specific gravity tank instead. Do not put these in this tank: ethylene glycol, ferric chloride, ferric sulfate, hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, hydrofluosilicic acid, hydrogen peroxide, peracetic acid, phosphoric acid, polyaluminum chloride, potassium carbonate, potassium hydroxide, propylene glycol, sodium bisulfate, sodium bisulfite, sodium hypochlorite, sodium thiosulfate, sulfuric acid, and zinc orthophosphate. Watch the seal material on these too: most of the acids, hydrogen peroxide, and sodium hypochlorite need Viton rather than EPDM, peracetic acid specifically needs Aflas, and sulfuric acid calls for CPVC fittings instead of PVC.

The mistake to avoid

The costliest error on a cone-bottom chemical tank is matching it to the wrong specific gravity. This is a 1.5 SG tank: putting a 1.9 SG liquid such as sulfuric acid or sodium hypochlorite into it overstresses the wall and shortens tank life.
