The Enduraplas 1200 Gallon Black Horizontal Leg Tank is a transport-style polyethylene leg tank built for hauling dense liquids on a trailer or skid. It measures 102 inches long by 70 inches wide by 59 inches tall, with a 70.0 x 102.0 inch footprint and a 1.9 specific gravity rating, which is why this Enduraplas horizontal leg tank gets specified for heavy agricultural and chemical loads. The integral leg design cradles the tank low and wide so the weight rides stable in motion. At a 1.9 SG rating this is the heaviest-duty rating offered in this size class, so there is no higher-SG step-up to recommend behind it.

Will it work for your load?

Plan around the weight, not just the gallons. Filled with water this tank carries about 10,008 lb of contents; at its full 1.9 SG rating it is engineered to hold up to 19,015 lb of product. That is a roughly 9,000 lb swing - nearly double the weight - between a water rinse and a fully loaded run of a dense fluid, and the 19,015 lb figure is the number that decides whether this is legal and safe on a given trailer. Size your trailer, axles, and tie-downs against that 19,015 lb maximum, not the water weight, and use the Tank Sizing Calculator and Tank Sizing Guide to match capacity to your route and equipment. This horizontal leg tank ships without fittings configured to a chemical spec, so fitting size, material, and placement are yours to specify - confirm fitting locations against the technical drawing on this page before you plumb the outlet and vent.

Chemical compatibility

This tank is molded in polyethylene with a 1.9 specific gravity rating, so it is rated for a wide range of dense chemical loads as well as water. The resin grade is listed as HDLPE but is not yet confirmed - verify HDLPE versus crosslinked (XLPE) with us before committing the tank to chemical service, because the two resins handle some of the chemistries below differently (concentrated sulfuric and sodium hypochlorite among them). The materials below are a guide to what the fitting and gasket should be made of for each chemical; nothing is pre-installed to that spec. Our chemical-compatibility data is concentration- and temperature-specific, so always match your exact concentration and operating temperature before filling:

The mistake that bites first on a tank like this is defaulting every gasket to EPDM. EPDM holds up well on the salts and glycols above, but the oxidizers and strong acids will chew through it: sulfuric acid (98%) wants Viton gaskets and is the only line that calls for CPVC fittings, sodium hypochlorite and hydrogen peroxide both want Viton, and peracetic acid is the lone Aflas line. Pair the fitting and gasket materials exactly as listed for your chemical and concentration. For the full picture, see our chemical compatibility reference.

Freight and ordering

This tank ships LTL freight from the Enduraplas plant in Neche, North Dakota, quoted live to your ZIP on dimensional and actual weight - and on a tank rated to 19,015 lb of contents, that loaded weight is what drives both the freight quote and your trailer planning. Get a number for your delivery address with the Freight Cost Estimator, or call us at 866-418-1777 and we will work out the best routing for a tank this size. If you are spec'ing this for fertilizer or ag transport, our guides on applicator and leg tanks for fertilizer, portable utility tanks and DOT classification, and fertilizer-blend tank stratification walk through the regulatory and mixing details that trip up first-time buyers.
