The single biggest mistake on a tank like this is matching the wrong material to the chemical - and it is two separate calls. First the fitting metal: DEF and peracetic acid require 316SS fittings, not PVC, or the install will pit. Then the gasket: hydrochloric, sulfuric, phosphoric, hydrofluoric, peroxide, and hypochlorite service all call for Viton (or Aflas on peracetic acid), not the EPDM that suits the chlorides and carbonates.
