The mistake to avoid
The expensive error on a 1.9 SG tank is matching fitting and gasket materials to the tank but ignoring the liquid. As listed above, DEF and Peracetic Acid require 316 stainless steel fittings, while the strong acids (hydrochloric, hydrofluoric, phosphoric, sulfuric) and sodium hypochlorite move off the default EPDM to Viton, and Peracetic Acid to Aflas. Specify the wrong elastomer and the gasket fails long before the polyethylene does.
