The Enduraplas 5000 Gallon Green Cone Bottom Tank with Stand (SKU THC05000KG) is a full-drain vessel built for chemical batching, mixing, and dosing where you need every gallon to gravity-feed out the bottom. It stands 175" tall on an integrated stand, measures 110" in diameter at the tank body, and is molded from polyethylene with a 1.9 specific gravity rating and an empty weight of 1,100 lb. Fluid exits through a 3" PP female NPT bulkhead outlet at the cone tip, and the 16" threaded vented manway up top handles fill and inspection access. This tank carries an FDA Approved designation.

Will it hold what you're putting in it?

The 1.9 SG rating is the number that matters most on a cone-bottom chemical tank. It means the wall and cone are engineered for contents weighing up to 1.9 times water. Filled with plain water at 5,000 gallons you're carrying about 41,700 lb; at the full rated 1.9 SG the tank supports roughly 79,230 lb of contents. Match your chemical's specific gravity against that 1.9 ceiling before you buy — running a dense liquid in an underrated tank is the single most common and most expensive cone-bottom mistake. Use the Tank Sizing Calculator and the Tank Sizing Guide to confirm your batch weight, and see the technical drawing on this page for the stand geometry and outlet placement. The 16" manway is a vented design, which relieves pressure from off-gassing services such as sodium hypochlorite, hydrogen peroxide, and peracetic acid.

Chemical compatibility

This tank is molded polyethylene with a 1.9 SG rating. The resin is recorded as HDLPE but not yet confirmed — verify HDLPE versus XLPE with us before committing this tank to chemical service, since crosslinked and linear polyethylene behave differently with certain oxidizers and solvents. Compatibility below is drawn from the Snyder Industries OEM chemical resistance chart and is concentration- and temperature-specific; always confirm your exact chemical, concentration, temperature, and the fitting and gasket materials for your duty.

Chemicals this tank's 1.9 SG rating covers include Ethylene Glycol (100%, PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets), Ferric Chloride (50%, PVC/EPDM), Ferric Sulfate (60%, PVC/EPDM), Hydrochloric Acid (37%, PVC fittings, Viton gaskets), Hydrofluoric Acid (48%, PP/PVC, Viton), Hydrofluosilicic Acid (26%, PP/PVC, Viton), Hydrogen Peroxide (50%, PVC, Viton), Peracetic Acid (30%, 316SS fittings, Aflas gaskets), Phosphoric Acid (85%, PVC, Viton), Polyaluminum Chloride (PVC/EPDM), Potassium Carbonate (50%, PVC/EPDM), Potassium Hydroxide (saturated, PVC/EPDM), Propylene Glycol (PP/316SS, EPDM), Sodium Bisulfate and Sodium Bisulfite (PVC/PP, EPDM), Sodium Hypochlorite (16.5% maximum concentration — above that this tank is off the chart, PVC, Viton), Sodium Thiosulfate (40%, PVC/EPDM), Sulfuric Acid (98%, CPVC fittings, Viton gaskets), and Zinc Orthophosphate (PP/316SS, EPDM).

Several chemicals are compatible at lower SG ratings and sit well within this tank's 1.9 headroom: Acetic Acid (60%, PP/PVC, EPDM), Aluminum Sulfate (50%, PVC/EPDM), Calcium Chloride (40%, PVC/EPDM), DEF (32.5%, 316SS fittings, EPDM), Ferrous Sulfate (20%, PVC/EPDM), Magnesium Chloride (30%, PVC/EPDM), Sodium Carbonate (30%, PVC/EPDM), Urea Solution (50%, PP/PVC, EPDM), and Ozonated Water (up to 10 PPM, PVC/EPDM). One integration note that saves a return: the tank's included 3" outlet is polypropylene, but DEF and peracetic acid both require 316SS wetted fittings on the chart — swap the PP bulkhead for a 316SS outlet before running either service. The gasket also shifts with the chemical — Viton for the strong oxidizers and acids, EPDM for salts, glycols, DEF, and urea, and Aflas for peracetic acid only (don't default peracetic to Viton) — so spec your fittings and gaskets to the chart, not by habit. Full details are in the concentration- and temperature-specific OEM chart and our Chemical Compatibility Database.

Stand selection and freight

Because this is a cone-bottom tank that must sit on a stand, matching the tank to the right frame is its own decision. Our steel frame vs. polyethylene stand decision tree and the Norwesco, Snyder, and Enduraplas stand compatibility matrix walk through load rating and fit; the 300 gallon and 310 gallon poly-stand buyer's guides show the same reasoning at smaller scale.

This tank ships LTL freight from the Neche, ND plant, quoted live to your ZIP. Get your number with the Freight Cost Estimator or call 866-418-1777 to confirm the resin grade, size an outlet, and lock in your stand before you order.
