What a 10 gallon cone is for

Sprayer rinse water on a small rig, a chemical make up tank on a dosing skid, a sample or calibration vessel in a lab, a parts rinse station on a bench, a small batch of dye or cleaner that has to be drained to the last ounce. At 13 inches square and 21 inches tall it is a bench or skid item, not a plant item, and it goes where a drum would have to be tipped. The cone bottom needs something to hold it: a cone has no flat base, so the tank sits in a cradle, a cut out in a bench or a small stand. Nothing about a stand comes with the tank, so plan the mount before the pair arrives. What goes in it

Water, rinsate, and the cleaners, dilute chemicals and dosing solutions that polyethylene handles, up to 1.5 times the weight of water and under 120 F. Before anything stronger goes in, check it in our chemical compatibility guide; small cone buyers most often look up sodium hypochlorite, hydrogen peroxide, acetic acid, sulfuric acid and peracetic acid.

What to check before you buy

1. The outlet. Norwesco gives the outlet size as 1.25 inch and does not describe the fitting itself. Tell us the valve or hose you are connecting and we will confirm what is on the tank before it ships.
2. The lid. An 8 inch lid on top: wide enough to pour from a jug or drop a small mixer in.
3. The mount. A cradle, a bench cut out or a small stand that holds the tank by the cylinder and leaves the outlet clear. Measure the 13 inch body and the 21 inch height against the space.
4. The quantity. Two tanks per pack. Price and freight are quoted per pair.

Each tank is 10 lb in a 13 by 13 by 21 inch carton and the pair travels by UPS from Norwesco's plant in Sheldon, Iowa, or Washington Court House, Ohio, whichever is nearer. The listed price is before freight; the freight cost estimator gives the cost to your ZIP, or request a written quote for a larger quantity. When the cartons arrive, check the part number against 42351 and look at the cone tip of each tank, which is the part a carton protects least. Fill each with water once before it goes into service.
