The Norwesco 15 gallon 60 degree cone bottom inductor tank, part number 60214, is a small polyethylene mixing and induction vessel 19 inches in diameter and 23 inches tall, weighing 13 lb. An inductor tank is where a measured dose of a concentrate, a powder or a drum of chemical goes in and gets drawn down into a larger system; the cone carries every drop to one point at the bottom instead of leaving a heel on a flat floor. What it is for
Sprayer fill stations, fertilizer and crop protection mix sites, water treatment chemical feed, and any shop or plant that batches a small quantity before it goes into a bigger tank or a line. The 15 gallon size is for a dose, not a day's supply: you tip in the product, add water or carrier through the lid, let the cone funnel it to the outlet, and draw it off through the 2 inch port into a pump, an eductor or a transfer line. What goes in it
Polyethylene handles water, most liquid fertilizers and many common chemicals. Before anything else goes in, check the liquid in our chemical compatibility guide; the entries inductor buyers ask about most are urea solution, sodium hypochlorite, calcium chloride, phosphoric acid and hydrogen peroxide. The 1.5 specific gravity rating covers liquids up to one and a half times the weight of water. Keep the liquid under 120 F, and remember the stand carries the full batch, not the tank wall.
What to check before you buy
- The stand. A cone bottom tank cannot sit on the floor. Norwesco's stand for this tank is N-60313; tell us if you are ordering it, and we ship both together.
- The outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the point of the cone. Your 2 inch valve or a reducing fitting threads straight in. Fit the valve before the first fill and support the pipe or hose below it so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
- The lid. An 8 inch threaded vented lid. Wide enough to pour from a jug or a small bag; too small for a bucket, so if you dump from pails the 57 degree 15 gallon tank below has a bigger opening.
- The cone angle. 60 degrees, the steep one. It drains cleaner and suits thick or settling products; the trade is a taller tank on the stand.
