A 15 gallon inductor tank with a 16 inch manway on top
The Norwesco 15 gallon 57 degree cone bottom inductor tank, part number 42064, is a small polyethylene mixing and induction vessel 24 inches in diameter and 21 inches tall, weighing 15 lb. An inductor tank takes a measured dose of concentrate, powder or drummed chemical and funnels it to one point at the bottom so the whole batch can be drawn into a larger system with nothing left behind. What sets this one apart from the other 15 gallon inductor is the top: a 16 inch threaded vented manway, big enough to empty a pail or a bag into without a funnel. The cone is 57 degrees. It comes with a 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the bottom of the cone. The tank is rated for liquids up to 1.5 specific gravity, the resin is FDA compliant per Norwesco, the service limit is 120 F, and Norwesco backs it with a 3 year warranty. What it is for

What goes in it
Polyethylene handles water, most liquid fertilizers and many common chemicals. Before anything else goes in, check the liquid in our chemical compatibility guide; the entries inductor buyers ask about most are urea solution, sodium hypochlorite, calcium chloride, aluminum sulfate and sulfuric acid. The 1.5 specific gravity rating covers liquids up to one and a half times the weight of water. Keep the liquid under 120 F, and remember the stand carries the full batch, not the tank wall.
What to check before you buy
- The stand. A cone bottom tank cannot sit on the floor. Norwesco's stand for this tank is N-63397; tell us if you are ordering it, and we ship both together.
- The outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the point of the cone. Your 2 inch valve or a reducing fitting threads straight in. Fit the valve before the first fill and support the hose or pipe below it so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
- The manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway: the reason to choose this tank if you dump from pails or bags.
- The cone angle. 57 degrees. Steep enough to drain a watery mix cleanly; for thick or settling products the 60 degree tank below empties a little faster.
