This tank stands 15 in tall on a 14 in x 18 in footprint. Because the cone needs clearance to drain, it cannot sit flat on the floor and must ride in a stand or rack, so spec that stand and any secondary-containment pan off the 14 in x 18 in footprint. On weight: filled with plain water the tank carries about 100 lb, and at the full 1.5 SG rating it is built to hold contents weighing up to 150 lb. The practical planning point is that a 12 gallon fill of a 1.5 SG fluid lands right at that 150 lb ceiling, so confirm your fluid's actual specific gravity is 1.5 or lower before filling to the top. Chemical compatibility
This is a polyethylene tank rated to 1.5 specific gravity. Confirm whether your unit is HDLPE or XLPE (cross-linked) before placing it into chemical service, because the two resins resist different chemistries. Verified against the OEM chemical-resistance chart at the listed, concentration- and temperature-specific conditions, and within the 1.5 SG rating, this tank handles acetic acid at 60%, aluminum sulfate at 50%, calcium chloride at 40%, DEF at 32.5%, ferrous sulfate at 20%, magnesium chloride at 30%, sodium carbonate at 30%, urea solution at 50%, and ozonated water up to 10 PPM. Match the wetted hardware to the chemical: DEF takes 316 stainless fittings with EPDM gaskets; acetic acid and urea solution take PP or PVC with EPDM; and the rest, including ozonated water, run PVC fittings with EPDM gaskets. Do not assume one fitting kit covers every chemical on this list.
Chemicals that need a higher-SG tank
Several common chemicals exceed what a 1.5 SG tank should hold and instead require a 1.9 specific gravity tank: ethylene glycol, ferric chloride, ferric sulfate, hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, hydrofluosilicic acid, hydrogen peroxide, peracetic acid, phosphoric acid, polyaluminum chloride, potassium carbonate, potassium hydroxide, propylene glycol, sodium bisulfate, sodium bisulfite, sodium hypochlorite, sodium thiosulfate, sulfuric acid, and zinc orthophosphate. Several of these also shift the gasket off EPDM: hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, hydrofluosilicic acid, hydrogen peroxide, sodium hypochlorite, phosphoric acid, and sulfuric acid all call for Viton (sulfuric acid on CPVC fittings), while peracetic acid takes Aflas with 316 stainless. The biggest mistake on a small cone tank is matching it to chemistry by name alone, so verify resin, SG, fitting, and gasket together against the OEM chart before you fill.
