Where a narrow 105 gallon tank goes

At 23 inches across this tank takes less floor than a water heater and goes through any standard door standing up, which is what makes it the hundred gallon tank for a utility closet, a well house, the corner of a basement or a boat house. The 63 inch height keeps it under a normal ceiling. The jobs are a holding tank between a slow well and a booster pump, a brine or chemical day tank for a treatment system, a rinse water store in a shop, and emergency water for a house or a cabin. Full of water it weighs 876 lb on a 23 inch circle, so it needs a flat, continuous, level floor; a sound slab or a solid floor carries it without an engineered pad, and outdoors it goes on a paving slab or compacted sand, not soil. What goes in it

Water, liquid fertilizer and the common treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles are the normal loads. Liquids heavier than 1.5 times water need a heavy duty tank, and nothing hotter than 120 F should be stored in it. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the side wall; a larger outlet than most tanks this size carry, which helps when a pump draws from it. A 2 inch valve, camlock or hose adapter threads straight into it. Support the valve and the first length of pipe so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
2. Lid. An 8 inch threaded vented lid on top: room for a fill hose and a float switch, with a vent so the tank breathes as a pump draws it down. It is not an arm-sized opening; clean the tank by flushing.
3. Extra fittings. A second outlet, an overflow or a return line is a bulkhead fitting added through the wall. Tell us before the order and we quote it with the tank. Dry-fit before tightening; hand tight plus a quarter turn is enough.
