Where a low 120 gallon tank goes

This is the short one in the range: 31 inches tall, with the lid at knee height. That is what you want under a bench, inside a cabinet, under a raised floor or a crawl space hatch, in a van or trailer build, or anywhere a tall tank would not clear the ceiling. The cost of staying low is a 38 inch footprint, so it takes more floor than a tall tank of the same volume and does not go through a standard door upright. We see it bought as a reserve under a workbench, a holding tank in a mobile washing or spraying rig, a water store in a low outbuilding, and a day tank beside a treatment skid. Full of water it weighs about 1000 lb over a 38 inch circle, so a flat, continuous, level floor is enough; off bare soil, on a slab or a paving base. What goes in it

Water, liquid fertilizer and the common treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles are the normal loads. Check anything else in our chemical compatibility guide before it goes in, and ask us about anything that is not listed. Liquids heavier than 1.5 times water need a heavy duty tank, and nothing hotter than 120 F should be stored in it. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 1-1/4 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the side wall. A valve, a hose adapter or a pump suction line threads straight into it. Because the tank is low, the outlet is close to the floor; leave room for the valve handle and a hose bend.
2. Lid. A 5 inch threaded vented lid on top. It takes a fill hose and a float switch cable and lets the tank breathe as the level changes, but it is a small opening: nothing wider than a hand goes through it, and the tank is cleaned by flushing. If you need to reach inside, tell us and we will point you at a tank with a manway.
3. Extra fittings. A second outlet or an overflow is a bulkhead fitting added through the wall. Tell us before the order and we quote it with the tank. Dry-fit before tightening; hand tight plus a quarter turn is enough.

At the tailgate, check the part number against 40318B on the bill of lading, look over the wall and the fitting for transit damage, and fill the tank with water the first time so any problem shows up with something harmless in it.
