Where a 15000 gallon water tank goes

This is the tank a ranch, a vineyard, a rural subdivision, a remote facility or a packing shed buys when it needs a large water reserve in one vessel: a fire protection supply where there are no hydrants, a rainwater cistern fed from a big roof, an irrigation buffer, or a potable reserve filled by haul or by a slow well. It is nearly fourteen feet across and about fifteen and a half feet tall, wide and comparatively low for its capacity, so it is an outdoor tank on an engineered slab with a fixed ladder or a platform to reach the manway. What goes in it

Water, rainwater, liquid fertilizer and the common farm and treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles. At 1.5 specific gravity the heaviest full load is 187650 lb; a liquid denser than one and a half times water belongs in the heavy duty version. The outlet fitting on this tank is stainless steel, so check both the polyethylene and the fitting against the liquid in our chemical compatibility guide before anything other than water goes in, and keep the contents under 120 F. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 3 inch 316 stainless steel female NPT bolted fitting, factory installed low in the wall. Your valve threads into it; put a flexible connector before any rigid pipe, because a tank this size grows measurably as it fills, and support the valve on its own. A fire department connection or a pump suction usually wants more than 3 inch; tell us before the tank ships and we will confirm what Norwesco can install.
2. Manway. A 22 inch threaded vented manway on top. The vent lets air move as the level changes; a pump pulling against a plugged vent can collapse a wall.
3. Inlet. No separate inlet is installed. Ask about a fill fitting at a set height before the order ships.

The tank ships LTL at freight class 300 from the nearest of Norwesco's Albertville, Alabama, Fairfield, Texas, St. Bonifacius, Minnesota and Washington Court House, Ohio plants, 165 by 165 by 186 inches and 3603 lb, on its side on a flatbed as an oversize load. You need a crane or a large loader with slings, a clear route to the pad and room to stand it up.
