Who buys the heavy duty version
Anyone storing something heavier than water in bulk: liquid fertilizer, brine, the coagulants and acids a water plant buys by the tanker load. Openings, fittings and what to check before you buy
- Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the sidewall. Your valve threads straight in. Support the valve and the first length of pipe on their own so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
- Manway. A 22 inch threaded vented manway on top, wide enough for a fill line, a level sensor and a person's arm and brush at cleanout. The vent must stay clear; a tank this size pulls hard when it drains.
