Norwesco's 1600 gallon hauling tank, 42 inches tall, now discontinued by the maker
The Norwesco 1600 gallon white hauling water tank, part number 43013, was a polyethylene transport tank 126 inches long, 84 inches wide and 42 inches tall, weighing 465 lb empty. Norwesco no longer builds it. We keep the page up because people still search for the part number and still own the tank, and because the two tanks Norwesco makes in its place are linked below. As built, it came with a 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting as the outlet and a 16 inch threaded vented manway on top, was rated for liquids up to 1.5 specific gravity and a service limit of 120 F, used an FDA compliant resin per Norwesco, and carried a 3 year warranty. Full of water it held 13344 lb.

What this tank was for
A low, wide water tank for a flatbed or a trailer: 42 inches tall so it rode under the sight line and kept the load's centre of gravity down, 84 inches wide to fill a standard bed, and 126 inches long. It hauled water to livestock, to a dust control job, to a remote site without a well. The weight is what made it a vehicle decision rather than a tank decision: 13344 lb of water plus the tank on a trailer deck means the trailer's rating, the hitch and the tie-downs set the limit, not the shell. If you are replacing one, pick the replacement by the deck it will ride on, not by the gallons alone, and read our water fill and leak check method for a new tank before the first load.
If you own one
- Outlet. The 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting is a standard Norwesco part. Valves, camlocks and replacement fittings for it are still available; call with the part number and we will match them.
- Manway. The 16 inch threaded vented manway lid is also a standard part. If the vent is clogged or the lid cracked, replace the lid rather than running the tank unvented; a sealed tank collapses on draw-down.
- Rating. 1.5 specific gravity and 120 F. Water, most fertilizers and many common chemicals are within polyethylene's range; confirm anything else before it goes in.
- Drawing. Norwesco's drawing for this tank is still linked on this page under Technical Drawing, with the fitting and manway positions for anyone plumbing a replacement into the same spot.
