The Norwesco 50 gallon black vertical storage tank, part number 41865B, is a tall, slim polyethylene tank 18 inches in diameter and 53 inches tall, weighing 25 lb empty. Where it goes
At 53 inches tall and 18 inches across, this tank is taller than it is stable when empty, so set it against a wall or in a corner and strap it to the wall if it lives anywhere people or carts move past. Full of water it weighs 417 lb and stands on its own. What goes in it
Water, fertilizer solution and the treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles are the normal loads. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 3/4 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the side wall. A 3/4 inch ball valve, a hose barb or the suction line of a metering pump threads straight in. Dry-fit the valve so the handle clears the wall before you tighten it.
- Lid. A 5 inch threaded vented lid on top, 53 inches up: big enough to fill from a hose or a jug and to drop a suction tube or a small float in. Keep the vent clear so a pump can draw without pulling the walls in.
