Where it goes

This is the mix tank for a pest control route: the spray mixture for the day, or for a single large job, mixed once and drawn down stop by stop. At 25 by 19 inches it fits across a truck bed beside a hose reel or on the shelf of a service van, and at 23 inches tall the lid is reachable without climbing in. Full of water it weighs 250 lb, so the mounting has to hold a sloshing load, not a static one: a flat, continuous surface under the whole base and straps through the moulded recesses, never over the lid. Mount it as low and as close to the axle as the layout allows. Where two tanks ride together for two products, keep the plumbing separate so a rinse of one never ends up in the other.

What goes in it

Water and the diluted pest control products that polyethylene handles. The concentrates and the label rates are the applicator's business; the tank's job is to hold the mix without reacting with it. Polyethylene handles water and most diluted spray mixes; check anything unusual in our chemical compatibility guide before the first fill. Liquids heavier than 1.5 times water and anything hotter than 120 F are outside the rating. Rinse the tank at the end of the day and before switching products; a 5 inch lid is wide enough to get a hose in and a hand round the inside. Openings and fittings

1. Lid. A 5 inch threaded vented lid. The vent lets air in as the pump draws; keep it clear, and do not swap it for a solid lid or the pump will pull the wall in.
2. Outlet. No outlet fitting is listed for this tank, so the suction connection is fitted to suit your pump. Tell us the pump's inlet size and we will put the bulkhead fitting on the same order. A bulkhead fitting needs a flat area of wall at least as wide as its flange so the gasket seals all the way round; dry-fit it, point the thread where the hose will run, then tighten by hand plus a quarter turn.
