This sheet puts four 3000 gallon tanks side by side and they are not one tank in four colours. Heights run 93, 109 and 119 inches, and plan dimensions run 102, 95 and 91 inches square. This record sits at one end of that spread: the widest and by a long way the shortest. The row at 91 inches square stands 119 inches, which is the opposite trade. In between, the 95 inch row stands 109. Same gallons, three quite different silhouettes, and the one that suits you is decided by the building rather than by the volume, because the volume is identical.

So the reason to be on this row is a ceiling. Ninety-three inches is a hair under eight feet of tank, which clears low bays, mezzanine undersides and roll-up door headers that the 119 inch row will not go near. What you pay for that is floor: 102 inches of diameter is eight and a half feet of circle, and the working space has to go around it. If the volume has any flexibility, note that the 2500 gallon row on this sheet is 95 inches square at 91 inches tall, which is barely shorter than this one on a much smaller footprint. We print both lines as the sheet carries them and we do not tell you what the difference between them is, because the sheet does not say. A vented manway, a 22 inch lid field, and where the air goes

• The manway field reads a 16 inch threaded vented manway. The lid size field on the same record reads 22 inches. The two do not agree and we are not going to pick one for you; both are printed, and if the opening diameter is load-bearing on your design, that is a question to settle in writing before the order goes in.
• What is not in doubt is that the manway is described as vented, so the air the tank breathes moves at the top while liquid moves at the bottom. On a 93 inch tall body the head above the outlet is modest by vertical tank standards, but the vent still governs how fast the tank can be emptied without pulling on itself.
• The outlet is a 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting. Two inches is the size the discharge run is built around, and the run should be supported on its own hangers rather than on the tank wall.

The limitation on this page is a dimensional one. This record publishes a diameter and a height and nothing else, and its dimension source field says the figures came from a snippet rather than from the master sheet. That is enough to plan a slab and a clearance, and it is not enough to detail a close-fitting enclosure. Treat 102 inches as the circle to work around and confirm anything tighter than that with us first.

The short wide one, and the header it clears

Everything useful about this tank follows from the ratio between 102 inches of diameter and 93 inches of height. It is wider than it is tall, which is not the usual shape for a vertical storage tank, and it means the liquid sits lower than it would in a taller body of the same volume. For the slab, the number to design against is the sheet's maximum contents figure of 47538 lb rather than the 25020 lb that a plain water fill would weigh, spread across an eight and a half foot circle. For the building, the number is 93 inches plus whatever sits under the tank plus the clearance a person needs to get a hand to the manway. For the pipework, it is the 2 inch outlet at the bottom. Two California plants and a 458 lb ticket

The plant field on this record names Hanford and Merced, both in California, and the ships-from field reads California alone.
