Short enough to go under things

At 39 inches this tank is barely more than three feet tall, low enough for a workbench, a counter run, a covered truck bed or a crawl space with some headroom. The top sits near waist height, so you can fill it, dip it and get a hand inside to clean it without a step. The 32 inch circle keeps the footprint small and fits through many doorways on a hand truck; measure the clear width first.

A low tank is also a stable one. With its weight carried close to the ground it is less inclined to tip than a tall, narrow tank of the same volume, although at 45 lb empty it still needs a strap outdoors or in a vehicle.

Black keeps light out of the tank, which stops most algae in stored water and protects liquids that break down in sunlight. It also absorbs heat, and the service limit is 120 F, so keep it out of full sun in a hot climate, and do not leave it in a closed truck bed in summer heat with a liquid that matters.
